JAKARTA, investortrust.id – Indonesia’s leading business figure Anindya Novyan Bakrie has expressed confidence that the country’s economic growth will stay on track in 2025, citing strong investment inflows and consistent export performance.
The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, known as KADIN, made the remarks after attending an Idulfitri open house hosted by Minister of Investment Rosan Roeslani at his official residence in South Jakarta on Tuesday, April 1, 2025.
“Fluctuations from quarter to quarter are normal, especially early in the year. But based on what we see, the growth target remains achievable. Exports alone are adding a positive net of $2.5 to $3 billion every month,” said Anindya.
Indonesia’s government, through its state budget (APBN) for 2025, has set an economic growth target of 5.2 percent and an inflation rate of 2.5 percent. These benchmarks are seen as critical for maintaining macroeconomic stability amid global uncertainties.
Anindya emphasized that export performance was just one component of a broader trend. He pointed to promising foreign direct investment figures in 2024 as another key indicator. “Last year, the investment reached more than Rp 900 trillion, and it’s continuing to grow. When both trade and investment increase, economic growth naturally follows suit,” he explained, referring to a figure equivalent to over $55 billion.
He also noted that post-holiday periods, such as the weeks following Eid, tend to reignite business momentum. “We expect the economy to pick up pace again after the festivities. I see no cause for concern—everything is still on track,” Anindya affirmed.
The Idulfitri gathering, which drew senior government officials and prominent business leaders, served not only as a celebration but also as a platform for informal discussions on economic prospects. Rosan Roeslani, who also serves as CEO of the state investment holding firm Danantara, hosted the event.
