TANGERANG, investortrust.id — Chinese automaker Jetour has officially positioned Indonesia as the nucleus of its regional expansion, unveiling two new global models—the Jetour T2 and Jetour X20—at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025.
Marketing Director PT Jetour Motor Indonesia Moch Ranggy Radiansyah said Indonesia played a strategic role in the brand’s global growth strategy. “Indonesia was chosen for the global premiere of the T2 and X20 because of its mature market and supportive infrastructure for regional expansion,” Ranggy told reporters at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, on Friday, July 25, 2025.
The Jetour T2, a premium sport utility vehicle, was introduced as a right-hand-drive model and assembled locally through a completely knocked down (CKD) partnership with PT Handal Indonesia Motor. Ranggy said this initiative reflected Jetour’s long-term commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s automotive manufacturing sector.
“All of Jetour’s current models are now assembled in Indonesia. This is our concrete step toward making Indonesia a production base,” he said.
Jetour also debuted the X20, its first electric vehicle, globally from Indonesia—an unprecedented move that underscores the company’s trust in the local market. The launch represents a milestone not just for Jetour but also for Indonesia’s ambitions to be a hub for EV production in the region.
However, the company has yet to announce official prices for the new models. “We are still evaluating the most ideal price point for Indonesian consumers. The official pricing will be announced in the second half of 2025,” Ranggy said.
Both vehicles will retain global design and features, though Jetour plans further market research to better understand local preferences. “The interiors are identical to the Chinese versions. For features, we remain open to local adaptation to ensure the driving experience aligns with Indonesian needs,” he added.
Addressing market competition in the SUV segment, Jetour expressed confidence in its value proposition. The company, which hails from China, emphasized that it will not compete solely on pricing.
“We see competition as healthy. Jetour’s positioning is unique—we’re not just offering affordability but also quality and comprehensive service,” Ranggy concluded.
