JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya says the government remains steadfast in delivering programs that directly improve people’s welfare, highlighting education and cash aid as concrete proof of President Prabowo Subianto’s commitment to serve the people.
During his visit to People’s High School 33 in South Tangerang on Sunday, Oct 19, 2025, Teddy said the People’s School initiative launched by President Prabowo has been implemented in 165 locations nationwide this year and will be formally inaugurated by year-end.
“This People’s School program, initiated by the President, has already been operating in 165 schools this year and will be inaugurated at the end of the year,” Teddy said after his inspection.
He explained that the program aims to provide education, skills training, nutrition, and decent housing for underprivileged or out-of-school children. Teddy, who observed art and skill activities during his visit, said the students’ enthusiasm reflects the immense potential of Indonesia’s young generation if given equal opportunities.
“This is the essence of the People’s School,” Teddy said. “The President wants every Indonesian child to have the right and opportunity to study through a school provided by the government. Children who dropped out, never attended school, or faced financial difficulties are now able to study again, learn new skills, and prepare for a better future.”
Teddy also reiterated that the government had launched additional direct cash assistance (BLT) on Friday, Oct 17, 2025, as part of its economic stimulus measures. The program targets households in income deciles 1 to 4 for the October–December 2025 period, financed entirely through government spending efficiencies.
“This BLT for three months is funded from budget efficiencies made earlier this year,” Teddy said. “A total of 35.4 million beneficiary families will receive Rp 30 trillion. We saved funds from programs that were less urgent or not fully realized and redirected them to help the people.”
He added that the cash aid aims to ease the burden of low-income families by helping them meet daily needs, support their children’s schooling, and maintain household stability.
“Each beneficiary will receive Rp 300,000 per month for three months, disbursed as a lump sum of Rp 900,000 starting next Monday. The funds can be withdrawn through bank accounts or post offices,” Teddy said.
Marking nearly one year of the Prabowo-Gibran administration, Teddy noted that many citizens have already felt the positive impact of the government’s first-year programs.
“Many people have experienced the results of what the government has done in this first year,” Teddy said. “We must continue to move forward and realize the President’s vision of prosperity for all Indonesians, without exception.”
