JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — A new survey by Poltracking Indonesia shows that 78.1 percent of Indonesians are satisfied with the performance of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka in their first year in office, reflecting strong public trust and support for their social and economic programs.
Poltracking Executive Director Hanta Yuda Rasyid said the survey indicates that the Prabowo–Gibran administration enjoys high approval due to direct policy impacts on people’s lives and the president’s assertive leadership style. “At least five key factors explain why the administration is perceived positively by the public,” he said on Sunday, Oct 19, 2025.
According to Hanta, public trust in the Prabowo–Gibran government stands at 81.5 percent, while satisfaction with its overall performance reaches 78.1 percent. Among respondents who expressed satisfaction, 18.8 percent cited Prabowo’s strong and authoritative leadership, 12.3 percent pointed to well-targeted government assistance, and 10.4 percent credited the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.
Education ranked as the highest-rated sector with a 79 percent satisfaction rate, followed by health (76.6 percent), defense and security (75.5 percent), and social and cultural affairs (74.9 percent). However, Hanta noted that the administration must improve performance in three areas: law enforcement and anti-corruption (68.2 percent), political stability (65.7 percent), and the economy (57.4 percent).
In terms of ministerial performance, Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar received the highest satisfaction rating at 65.7 percent, followed by Youth and Sports Minister Erick Thohir at 63.5 percent, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa at 61.2 percent, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono at 61 percent, and Armed Forces Commander Agus Subianto at 60.2 percent. Satisfaction levels for other ministers were below 60 percent.
The survey also found strong public support for a cabinet reshuffle, with 58.4 percent agreeing that the president should make changes to his cabinet team, while 10.5 percent disagreed.
Among government initiatives, the Free Nutritious Meal program emerged as the most well-known and well-received, recognized by 89.7 percent of respondents, with 53.5 percent expressing satisfaction with its outcomes.
“Other notable programs include the construction of three million subsidized homes, supported by 54.7 percent of the public. Most respondents hope the houses remain affordable and maintain good quality,” said Hanta.
Meanwhile, 85.4 percent of respondents who were aware of the Red White Cooperative initiative said they supported the program, which aims to strengthen local economic institutions.
Economic sentiment also showed improvement. About 65.4 percent of respondents said their household conditions were better than a year ago, while 60.7 percent reported higher household income. Only 26.6 percent said their household conditions had worsened, and 31.8 percent reported lower income compared to the previous year.
On electoral preferences for 2029, Prabowo Subianto remained the top choice with an electability rate of 48.5 percent, followed by Dedi Mulyadi at 15.7 percent and Anies Baswedan at 6.3 percent. For potential vice-presidential candidates, Gibran Rakabuming Raka led with 37 percent, followed by Dedi Mulyadi at 13.6 percent and Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono at 6.1 percent.
In the political party landscape, Gerindra maintained its lead with an electability rate of 24.1 percent, ahead of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) at 15.7 percent, Golkar at 9.5 percent, the National Awakening Party (PKB) at 8.4 percent, NasDem at 6 percent, the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) at 5.6 percent, the Democratic Party at 5.4 percent, and PAN at 3.9 percent.
Poltracking conducted the national survey between Oct 3 and Oct 10, 2025, using a stratified multistage random sampling method. The survey involved 1,220 respondents from all 38 provinces in Indonesia, with a margin of error of ±2.9 percent and a 95 percent confidence level. Respondents were interviewed face-to-face using digital devices by trained enumerators, with each interviewer covering 10 respondents in one selected village or ward.
Hanta said the survey was designed to measure the public’s evaluation of the first year of the Prabowo–Gibran administration and its major programs. “This snapshot offers an updated view of public perception as of October 2025. Public evaluation will continue to evolve in line with government performance and its impact on the nation’s economy and politics,” he said.
