JAKARTA, investortrust.id — Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya has confirmed that President Prabowo Subianto has concluded his foreign visits that began on Friday, Sept 19, 2025.
The main purpose of the trip was to attend the 80th United Nations General Assembly in New York, but the president also visited Japan, Canada, and the Netherlands, securing investment commitments and advancing Indonesia’s diplomatic standing.
Teddy said the trip, which spanned six days, was marked by concrete achievements. In Japan, President Prabowo visited the Indonesia Pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025 on Saturday, Sept 20, 2025.
According to Minister of National Development Planning Rachmat Pambudy, the event generated investment commitments worth US$22.8 billion, equal to Rp 380 trillion.
In the United States, Prabowo delivered his speech on Thursday, Sept 23, 2025, as the third speaker after Brazil and the United States. Teddy noted that the address to 193 member states received significant praise from world leaders.
“It was bold, firm, and concrete,” he said, adding that U.S. President, Canadian Prime Minister, Dutch King Willem-Alexander, and French President Emmanuel Macron personally conveyed their appreciation. Macron even called Prabowo directly to express admiration.
During his U.S. stop, Prabowo also met FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who pledged support for Indonesia’s youth football academies. Teddy emphasized the importance of this commitment ahead of Indonesia’s World Cup qualifying matches on Oct 9 and 12.
Prabowo’s visit to Canada, although brief, resulted in a major breakthrough with the signing of the Indonesia-Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (ICA CEPA). The agreement was formalized during a meeting with Governor General Mary Simon and Prime Minister Mark Carney.
Teddy highlighted that “90.5% of tariffs on Indonesian products will be eliminated by Canada, which will bring very positive benefits for Indonesia’s trade.”
The final leg of the trip took place in the Netherlands, where President Prabowo was formally welcomed by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima at Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague. Both sides agreed on the return of approximately 30,000 historical Javanese artifacts, fossils, and cultural documents to Indonesia.
Teddy described this as the conclusion of a long-standing negotiation. “The process has been ongoing for years, but today it was finally agreed upon and will be completed quickly,” he said.
