JAKARTA, Investortrust.id – Manulife Wealth & Asset Management and Schroder Investment Management Limited have announced a definitive agreement under which PT Manulife Aset Manajemen Indonesia, or MAMI, will acquire PT Schroder Investment Management Indonesia, known as Schroders Indonesia. The deal marks a milestone for Indonesia’s investment industry by combining the strengths of two major players to deliver world-class investment solutions for local clients.
The transaction will be completed once closing conditions are met, including approval from Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority, or Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK). Until then, both companies will continue to operate independently while maintaining full regulatory compliance.
Manulife first established its presence in Indonesia in 1996 through MAMI, which has grown into the country’s largest asset manager. As of June 30, 2025, MAMI managed Rp101.7 trillion ($6.5 billion) in assets and served more than 2.5 million clients. With this acquisition, Manulife underscores its long-term commitment to Indonesia while expanding its ability to provide high-quality investment services.
Schroders Indonesia, which began operations in 1997, is currently the fifth-largest asset manager in Indonesia. As of June 2025, it managed more than Rp56 trillion ($3.6 billion) in funds, backed by an extensive distribution network and over 140 local and international awards earned since 2003. The firm has built a strong reputation as one of the largest independent asset management platforms in the country with long-standing client relationships.
