Prabowo Begins Diplomatic Tour in Middle East with Stop in Abu Dhabi

JAKARTA, Investortrust.id – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto has begun his official tour of the Middle East with a visit to Abu Dhabi, where he is scheduled to hold high-level talks to strengthen bilateral relations. He arrived in the capital of the United Arab Emirates early Wednesday morning and is set to meet with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This marks the start of a diplomatic mission that will also take him to Turkiye for a state and working visit.
Prabowo landed at Presidential Flight Terminal in Abu Dhabi at approximately 6:30 a.m. local time, where he was welcomed by UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei. The Indonesian delegation includes Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Upon arrival, the President proceeded to his hotel to rest briefly before heading to Qasr Al Shatie, the official residence of President Mohammed bin Zayed, for a private bilateral meeting. The discussions are expected to culminate in the announcement of several agreements between the two nations.
“The President will be holding a private meeting with His Highness President Mohammed bin Zayed, and it will be followed by the signing and announcement of multiple memorandums of understanding and letters of intent,” said Yusuf Permana, Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, during a press briefing.
The agreements are expected to enhance cooperation across several sectors, although details have yet to be disclosed.
Following his engagements in Abu Dhabi, Prabowo is scheduled to continue his diplomatic journey with a visit to Ankara, Turkiye. There, he will undertake both a state visit and a series of official meetings aimed at deepening Indonesia’s strategic ties with the country.
“This is part of the President’s working visit to the Middle East and Turkiye. He will depart next for Ankara,” Yusuf confirmed.
