Astra Supports Indonesia Pavilion at World Expo 2025 Osaka
JAKARTA, investortrust.id – PT Astra International Tbk, or ASII, Indonesia’s leading diversified conglomerate, has pledged support for the Indonesia Pavilion at World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, scheduled to take place from April 13 to October 13, 2025. The commitment was formalized through a cooperation agreement signed with Indonesia’s Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency, or PPN/Bappenas.
The agreement was signed by Secretary of the Ministry of National Development Planning, Teni Widuriyanti, and Astra’s Head of Corporate Communications, Boy Kelana Soebroto, at the ministry’s headquarters in Jakarta on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2025.
The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of National Development Planning, Febrian Alphyanto Ruddyard, and Astra Director, Gita Tiffani Boer. Also present were Minister of National Development Planning, Rachmat Pambudy, and Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia, Masaki Yasushi.
A Platform for Innovation and Global Collaboration
Minister Rachmat Pambudy emphasized that World Expo 2025 Osaka presents a valuable opportunity for Indonesia to collaborate with international stakeholders. Under the theme Designing Future Society for Our Lives, the global event serves as a platform for innovation, technological advancements, and sustainable solutions.
“The expo is also a means to strengthen global partnerships and reinforce diplomatic cooperation,” he said in a statement received by Investortrust.id.
With Astra’s support, Indonesia’s pavilion, themed Thriving The Harmony: Nature, Culture, Future, aims to showcase the country’s commitment to sustainability and its unique cultural and natural heritage.
Astra’s Commitment to Sustainable Development
Riza Deliansyah, Astra’s Chief of Corporate Affairs, stated that the company’s participation aligns with the World Expo 2025 Osaka’s goal of fostering innovation and international collaboration for a sustainable future.
“We hope this strategic collaboration will further strengthen Indonesia’s global position while opening up broader opportunities for cooperation, ensuring sustainable development for both present and future generations,” he said.
Astra’s involvement in World Expo 2025 Osaka is part of its long-standing commitment to supporting Indonesia’s global presence. The company has previously contributed to Indonesia’s participation in past World Expos, including in Shanghai (2010), Milan (2015), and Dubai (2021).
Showcasing Indonesia’s Identity to the World
According to Riza, Astra’s support for the Indonesia Pavilion aligns with its broader vision of national prosperity and its dedication to Indonesia’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
“This initiative also reinforces Indonesia’s commitment to SDGs and the 2045 Golden Indonesia Vision on the global stage,” he said.
The pavilion aims to present Indonesia’s rich national identity, including its vast natural resources, diverse cultural heritage, and core values.
“The Indonesia Pavilion will serve as a visual representation and an immersive experience for international visitors,” Riza added.
Through this participation, Indonesia seeks to enhance its international standing, attract investment, and foster economic and technological partnerships with global stakeholders.
