Anindya Bakrie: Kadin Supports Government in Promoting Indonesia at WEF Davos
DAVOS, Investortrust.id – The Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), Anindya Bakrie, revealed that Kadin’s mission at the 2025 World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, is to assist the government in promoting Indonesia to foreign investors, encouraging them to invest in the country.
“Our main mission is to promote investment opportunities in Indonesia. We are working alongside the government to attract investment to Indonesia,” said Anindya during the annual WEF 2025 meeting in Davos on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025.
Leveraging WEF as a Global Platform
Anindya emphasized that WEF Davos provides an ideal platform for business leaders and government officials to expand markets and build international networks. The forum gathers not only business executives but also government leaders, civil society representatives, and academics.
“We need to broaden trade markets even further. This forum offers an excellent opportunity to achieve that,” said Anindya, who attended the event with other Kadin officials.
According to the WEF's official website, the 2025 forum, titled "Collaboration for the Intelligent Age," is attended by approximately 3,000 leaders from at least 130 countries. The discussions focus on five interconnected themes: rebuilding trust, reimagining growth, investing in people, protecting the planet, and industry in the intelligent era.
Participants include 350 government officials (including 60 heads of state), 1,600 business leaders, and representatives from civil society and academia.

Indonesia's Relevance at WEF
Anindya noted that the themes of WEF 2025 align closely with the agenda of Indonesia’s current administration under President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka.
Indonesia is aiming for an 8% economic growth target, which requires substantial investment, particularly from foreign investors. “To achieve the 8% growth target is no small task; it requires massive investments,” said Anindya, who is also the CEO of Bakrie & Brothers.
The country is actively pursuing industrialization, with a focus on digital transformation. Incorporating technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) into industries is seen as a key driver of progress while ensuring a human-centered approach. “AI is critical for driving industrialization in Indonesia,” Anindya stated.
Anindya stressed the importance of trust in fostering collaboration, particularly amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainties. “Collaboration cannot happen without trust, especially after significant geopolitical instability,” he remarked.
Sustainability is another critical issue addressed at WEF 2025. According to Anindya, the Indonesian government is implementing pro-sustainability policies, making the forum an opportunity to showcase these efforts.
“This is a chance to promote government policies that prioritize sustainability,” he added.
Anindya highlighted that the international community is closely monitoring global economic leadership, particularly after Donald Trump’s return as U.S. President. “People are eager to see how his economic policies in this term will differ from his first presidency,” he observed. Meanwhile, strong expectations remain for India and China to continue driving global economic growth.
