Indonesia's State-Owned Enterprises Minister Anticipates Bali International Hospital's Inauguration by President Prabowo in June 2025
JAKARTA, investortrust.id – Indonesia's Minister of State-Owned Enterprises, Erick Thohir, has expressed his aspiration for President Prabowo Subianto to inaugurate the Bali International Hospital in June 2025. During a recent inspection of the hospital's progress, Erick emphasized the importance of providing world-class healthcare services within the country.
"I hope that Bali International Hospital can be inaugurated by President General (Ret.) Prabowo Subianto in June 2025," Erick stated on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2025.
Erick has been overseeing the hospital's development to ensure that Indonesia soon possesses a healthcare facility of international standards. He reported that all medical equipment has been fully installed, and the hospital has recruited 258 staff members, comprising individuals from Bali, other regions of Indonesia, and abroad. Additionally, diaspora doctors are prepared to deliver optimal healthcare services.
This recent inspection is part of Thohir's ongoing commitment to the project. Previously, he reviewed the construction progress on Nov. 21, 2024. The Bali International Hospital, a flagship under the Indonesia Healthcare Corporation (IHC), is designed to bolster health tourism in the Sanur Health Special Economic Zone in Bali.
"BIH is here to address this challenge. This hospital aims not only to provide excellent medical services but also to reduce the dependence of Indonesians seeking treatment abroad. Moreover, BIH plays a crucial role in attracting diaspora doctors to contribute to strengthening national health resilience," Erick remarked during his previous visit, as cited from the hospital's official Instagram account.
IHC President Director Lukman Ma’ruf emphasized that the establishment of BIH marks a significant transformation in Indonesia's healthcare services. Beyond being merely a hospital, BIH is set to become a catalyst for change within Indonesia's health and tourism ecosystems.
"With international standards, BIH is designed not only to meet local healthcare needs but also to strengthen Indonesia's position as a leading destination in global medical tourism," Lukman stated.
Covering a building area of 50,000 square meters, BIH is equipped with advanced technology such as Brachytherapy, MRI 1.5 and 3 Tesla, 256 Slice CT scan, and Linac for radiotherapy. The hospital also features green spaces that offer a holistic experience in patient recovery.
