JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — Ahead of its 70th anniversary on Feb. 20, 2027, PT Astra International Tbk (ASII), one of Southeast Asia’s largest diversified conglomerates, reaffirmed its commitment to domestic expansion, innovation, and social enterprise.
The company formally introduced its milestone visual identity and campaign theme, "Creating and Growing Together With Indonesia," during its Alun-Alun Astra festival at the Gelora Bung Karno sports complex in Jakarta on Saturday, Aug. 15, 2026. The weekend event signaled the start of an 18-month roadmap commemorating seven decades in business.
The milestone arrives at a pivotal juncture for Indonesia's corporate sector, as major blue-chip conglomerates recalibrate their operations to align with national industrial targets and sustainable governance frameworks. Astra’s sprawling footprint—spanning automotive distribution, financial services, heavy equipment, mining, agribusiness, and digital infrastructure—serves as a primary bellwether for the health of Southeast Asia's largest consumer economy.
A Philosophy Rooted in Sustainable Value
Astra Director Djap Tet Fa and Executive In-Charge Boy Gemino Kalauserang led the ceremony, accompanied by Chief of Corporate Affairs Boy Kelana Soebroto, Chief of Human Capital Development Matilda Ester Rotinsulu, Chief of Corporate Finance & Accounting Endro Wahyono, and Chief of Corporate Information System & Technology Anastasia Krisnawati.
"Astra's operating philosophy mirrors a sheltering tree that emerges from deep roots, matures across generations, and delivers enduring value to society," Boy Kelana said in an official corporate statement on Sunday, Aug. 16, 2026. "The seven-decade milestone represents more than a celebration of historical performance. It provides the strategic foundation to accelerate our collaborative investments across the country."
Boy noted that the corporate campaign aligns with national priorities ahead of Indonesia’s 81st Independence Day commemorations, which focus on equitable economic distribution and sovereign growth.
Community Footprint and Rural Enterprise
The Alun-Alun Astra festival featured interactive exhibits, innovation workshops, and product showcases from the group's signature rural development venture, the Astra Prosperous Village (Desa Sejahtera Astra) program. The public gathering ran in tandem with the Semesta Berpesta concert series, featuring top domestic recording artists.
Across nearly seven decades, Astra estimated that its social impact programs have benefited over 16 million citizens, including support networks for 6.9 million employees and their dependents, alongside approximately 3 million beneficiaries of rural enterprise initiatives.
"Our rural development initiative now encompasses 1,533 villages across 35 provinces," Boy explained on Sunday. "The framework aims to build economic self-reliance and raise household income across regional communities."
Allocating Capital to Disaster Response
The conglomerate also linked its anniversary rollout to immediate disaster response efforts following a magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck the province of East Nusa Tenggara on Saturday morning.
Astra pledged to channel a portion of the festival's commercial ticket proceeds through its philanthropic foundation, Nurani Astra, to assist disaster-stricken communities.
"This mobilization demonstrates that our journey toward 70 years is intrinsically linked to public accountability and social solidarity," Boy said.
