SOLO, Investortrust.id – Kaesang Pangarep, youngest son of former President Joko Widodo, has secured another five-year term as Chairman of the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI) following an online vote during the party’s 2025 Congress held in Solo, Central Java.
Kaesang, who first assumed the role in 2023, won 65.28% of votes cast by registered members via the party’s online voting platform, defeating two other contenders — Ronald A. Sinaga (22.23%) and Agus Mulyono Herlambang (12.49%).
The results were formally announced on Saturday, July 19, by Andi Budiman, Chairman of the Congress Steering Committee, at Graha Saba Buana. “Congratulations to the winner, Mas Kaesang Pangarep, who received 65.28% of the vote,” Andi said, adding that the digital voting process reflects PSI’s commitment to transparency and member-driven democracy.
The online voting, conducted from July 12–18 through the website vote.psi.id, marked a milestone for the party’s push toward full digital participation. Out of 157,579 eligible voters in the party’s permanent electoral roll, all members could cast their votes remotely, underscoring PSI’s claim of being Indonesia’s most digitally progressive party.
Kaesang’s re-election also coincided with a sweeping rebranding campaign. The party unveiled a new logo — a red-and-white elephant — intended to symbolize strength, inclusivity, and modernization. The PSI leadership dubbed this transition as a move toward becoming “Partai Super Tbk,” a term that mirrors public-listed company branding and hints at professionalizing party operations.
Prabowo Attends Closing Ceremony
On Sunday, July 20, President Prabowo Subianto arrived in Solo to attend the closing ceremony of the PSI Congress at the Edutorium KH Ahmad Dahlan, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta. He was welcomed at Adi Soemarmo Air Base by Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka, Kaesang’s older brother.
Prabowo was accompanied by senior officials including Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Angga Raka Prabowo. He was scheduled to deliver a keynote address during the evening program, capping a two-day event attended by thousands of PSI cadres from across the country.
