President Prabowo Orders Evaluation of National Strategic Projects, Including PIK 2
JAKARTA, investortrust.id — Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono has stated that President Prabowo Subianto has instructed his administration to conduct a thorough review of National Strategic Projects (PSN). Among the projects under evaluation is the Tropical Coastland project in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) 2 area.
“Yes, he has asked us to carefully review everything,” Agus stated during a briefing at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday, January 21, 2025.
Comprehensive Review of Strategic Projects
Agus elaborated that the review involves collaboration across multiple ministries and government agencies.
“Overall, the president has directed us to assess the PSN comprehensively. These projects involve many stakeholders, including the Ministry of Infrastructure, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, and various technical ministries,” he explained.
The primary objective of the review is to ensure all projects adhere to established procedures and standards. Agus noted that some projects may require adjustments or recalibrations to align with national goals.
“The government consistently evaluates and reviews progress, ensuring that projects are on track and identifying those that need improvements or recalibration,” he added.
Focusing on Public Benefits
Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Sufmi Dasco Ahmad previously highlighted Prabowo’s commitment to prioritizing projects with significant public benefits.
“President Prabowo is committed to focusing on projects that directly benefit the people. This includes reevaluating strategic projects that may have minimal public impact,” Dasco stated at the Indonesia Development 2025: Hopes and Challenges seminar in Jakarta.
Dasco acknowledged that such evaluations might provoke dissatisfaction among certain groups. However, he emphasized that Prabowo is prepared to implement necessary changes regardless of the risks involved.
“This initiative might not sit well with some parties, but President Prabowo is determined to proceed. Whatever the consequences, we will move forward,” Dasco emphasized.
The evaluation underscores the administration’s resolve to ensure that strategic development projects contribute meaningfully to Indonesia’s growth and public welfare.
