JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — The administration of President Prabowo Subianto has removed several initiatives from Indonesia’s list of National Strategic Projects, including the Pantai Indah Kapuk 2 coastal development in Banten. The revision is stipulated in Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Regulation No. 16 of 2025, which amends Regulation No. 7 of 2021 on the National Strategic Project list.
The PIK 2 Tropical Coastland development had previously been included under the tourism category of the National Strategic Projects, but the government has now officially revoked its designation.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the delisting only applies to the tourism portion of PIK 2, not the broader property investment within the area.
“It has been removed. The project’s National Strategic Project status was granted for its tourism component, not its property segment. So, it was simply withdrawn,” Airlangga said at his office on Tuesday, Oct 14, 2025.
He emphasized that the revocation would not disrupt ongoing property investment at PIK 2, which continues to progress independently.
Aside from PIK 2, the government also dropped the Merauke food and energy development zone in South Papua from the National Strategic Project list.
At the same time, nine new strategic programs were added to the government’s priority agenda. Six of them are national in scope: the free nutritious meals program, the rakyat schools initiative, the Red White Village and Urban Ward Cooperatives program, the digital education program, the poverty alleviation program, and the integrated waste management initiative.
Three additional programs have region-specific implementation: a food, energy, and water self-sufficiency program in the districts of Merauke, Mappi, Asmat, and Boven Digoel in South Papua, which includes new rice fields, palm plantations, livestock development, and supporting infrastructure; a coastal pond revitalization program along the northern coast of West Java, covering Bekasi, Karawang, Subang, and Indramayu; and an integrated shrimp farming development program in East Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara.
Despite the expanded list, the much-anticipated three million homes program is not among the 226 National Strategic Projects or the 25 strategic programs currently recognized by the government.
