Gov't Plans for Legislative and Judicial Office Tenders in Nusantara
JAKARTA, investortrust.id – The Indonesian Ministry of Public Works announced plans to begin the tender process for constructing legislative and judicial offices in Nusantara, the nation’s new capital city, during the first quarter of 2025.
“These offices are currently in the planning phase, with the detailed engineering design under development. Whether we proceed with a multi-year contract or another approach is under review,” said Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti on Monday, January 13, 2025.
“It’s highly likely that the tender process will begin in the first quarter, as the funding proposal has already been submitted by Mr. Basuki,” Diana said. She was referring to Basuki Hadimuljono, Head of the Nusantara Capital Authority.
The ministry has completed the basic designs for the legislative and judicial office buildings, which have been handed over to the authority. “Our role has been to prepare the foundational designs. The tender and construction will be handled by the authority,” Diana explained.
Previously, Basuki Hadimuljono expressed optimism about the readiness of key infrastructure to support the initial relocation of civil servants to Nusantara, slated to begin in April 2025. Speaking at an event in December 2024, Basuki outlined several priority projects integral to the development of the new capital.
A public-private partnership (PPP) with PT Intiland Development Tbk (DILD) will deliver 109 landed houses in 2025. Additionally, eight apartment towers for ASN, constructed by state-owned PT Nindya Karya (Persero), are set to continue.
“In 2025, the Intiland PPP project will deliver housing, while Nindya Karya will advance the construction of civil servant apartments. Furthermore, we aim to finalize the legislative and judicial office buildings, which will accommodate around 900 to 1,000 civil servants,” Basuki explained during a December 31, 2024, event at the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN).
The legislative and judicial buildings represent a critical step in establishing Nusantara as Indonesia’s administrative hub. By aligning these projects with broader infrastructure priorities, the government aims to ensure a seamless transition for civil servants and foster development in the new capital.
