JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — PT Indosat Tbk or ISAT monetizes fiber optic assets worth Rp 14.6 trillion on Saturday, Jan 24, 2026 in Jakarta by forming a joint venture called FiberCo to strengthen digital infrastructure and sharpen its focus on core cellular services. The move supports long-term value creation while accelerating investment in 5G and artificial intelligence.
The company said the establishment of FiberCo aimed to consolidate its fiber optic assets into a single entity designed as an open digital infrastructure platform to support national digital transformation.
“Indosat, Arsari Group, and Northstar formed FiberCo valued at Rp 14.6 trillion to consolidate fiber assets into an open digital infrastructure platform ready to support Indonesia’s artificial intelligence ecosystem,” President Director and Chief Executive Officer Vikram Sinha said last month.
Under the transaction, Indosat transferred its fiber optic assets to FiberCo while retaining about 45% ownership, allowing the company to monetize strategic assets without losing exposure to long-term growth in digital infrastructure.
Management said the proceeds would strengthen shareholder value and be reinvested to expand the 5G network and reinforce Indosat’s artificial intelligence foundation.
Market analysts viewed the move as aligned with Indosat’s value creation strategy, noting that the company secured strong strategic partners with expertise in fiber infrastructure.
“ISAT gains partners with solid FiberCo capabilities to enhance asset monetization and accelerate enterprise network growth, while allowing the company to focus more on strengthening its core cellular business,” BRI Danareksa Sekuritas analysts said last week.
Indosat also deepened its commitment to artificial intelligence development through Sahabat AI, a large language model developed with GoTo and supported by NVIDIA.
“We must not only become users. We must be part of the global community shaping the future of AI,” Vikram said on Wednesday, Jan 21, 2026.
From an industry perspective, Indosat emphasized cross-sector collaboration, system interoperability, and stronger startup and micro, small, and medium enterprise ecosystems to ensure AI adoption drives inclusive economic growth.
In the third quarter of 2025, ISAT posted revenue of Rp 14.052 trillion, up 3.8% quarter on quarter, supported by growth across cellular, multimedia, data communication, internet, and fixed telecommunications segments.
Combined cellular ARPU rose 3.6% quarter on quarter to Rp 40,000, while the subscriber base remained stable at around 95 million, reflecting the resilience of Indosat’s core business.
The company also expanded network capacity by increasing the number of 4G base transceiver stations to 208,000, supporting higher data traffic as nine-month data usage grew 6.1% year on year.
