JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — Prabowo Subianto positions subsidized housing as a central pillar of social policy on Saturday, Dec 20, 2025 in Banten, as the government formalizes a record 50,030 housing loan agreements under the FLPP scheme to expand home ownership for low income households.
Speaking at the mass signing and handover ceremony in Serang, Prabowo said the scale of the program showed the state’s commitment to addressing a long standing housing deficit. “Today is an extraordinary achievement, 50,030 mass subsidized housing loans,” he said. “This program began under President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, was continued by President Joko Widodo, and now I am continuing it and strengthening it.”
Prabowo said the challenge remained significant, noting that tens of millions of Indonesians still lacked proper housing. “Our goal is still far away, around 29 million of our people do not yet have homes,” he said. “That is why all ministers must work hard and coordinate to find concrete solutions.”
The subsidized housing drive is implemented through the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility or FLPP, coordinated by the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas and the Public Housing Savings Agency. Officials said the program is designed to ensure affordable mortgages for low income households across urban and rural regions.
Housing Minister Maruarar Sirait said the mass signing demonstrated how policy continuity could deliver tangible outcomes. “In the past, we might not have imagined domestic workers owning a home from their salary,” he said. “Today, under President Prabowo, that has become possible.”
Government data showed that as of Friday, Dec 19, 2025, FLPP disbursements had reached 263,017 housing units with a total value of Rp 32.67 trillion, involving 39 partner banks, nearly 8,000 developers, and projects spread across 33 provinces and more than 400 districts.
BP Tapera Commissioner Heru Pudyo Nugroho said presidential involvement had helped accelerate delivery. “It cannot be denied that mass signing events attended by President Prabowo have had a positive impact on the high level of FLPP disbursement this year,” he said.
Prabowo framed housing policy as part of a broader effort to ensure social justice and economic stability. He said long term nation building required sustained programs that outlast individual administrations. “There is no national development that can be achieved in a short period,” he said. “What we see today is the result of long term efforts by many leaders and institutions.”
He also stressed that successful housing delivery depended on teamwork across government, banks, developers, and local authorities. “No minister succeeds alone,” Prabowo said. “A leader must choose a strong team, just like in football. Only strong teams can win.”
The president said the government would continue to expand subsidized housing while improving governance to ensure public funds were used effectively. He linked clean administration to public trust, saying housing programs would only succeed if institutions remained accountable.
Officials said the mass signing in Serang was expected to reinforce momentum for FLPP disbursement into 2026, as the government seeks to narrow Indonesia’s housing gap and make home ownership more accessible for low income families.
