WIFI Wins 1.4 GHz Frequency Auction for Regional 1, DSSA Secures Regional 2 and 3

JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — Telecommunication operator PT Telemedia Komunikasi Pratama, or WIFI, has won the auction for the 1.4 GHz radio frequency band covering Regional 1 with a bid of Rp 403.76 billion, while PT Eka Mas Republik, a subsidiary of energy and telecom conglomerate DSSA, has secured Regional 2 and 3 in the same tender concluded on Wednesday, Oct 15, 2025.
The auction was held by the Ministry of Communication and Digital (Kemenkomdigi) over three working days from Oct 13 to 15 to select licensees for the Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) spectrum in the 1.4 GHz band. According to the ministry’s official statement released on Wednesday, the process attracted bids from major industry players including Telkom Indonesia and Eka Mas Republik.
WIFI emerged as the highest bidder in Regional 1 with Rp 403.76 billion, followed by Telkom Indonesia at Rp 399.76 billion and Eka Mas Republik at Rp 331.77 billion.
In Regional 2, Eka Mas Republik posted the top bid of Rp 300.88 billion, beating Telkom Indonesia’s Rp 259.99 billion and WIFI’s Rp 136.71 billion. The company also secured Regional 3 with a bid of Rp 100.88 billion, outpacing Telkom Indonesia’s Rp 80.05 billion and WIFI’s Rp 64.41 billion.
Kemenkomdigi announced that participants may submit objections to the auction results until Friday, Oct 17, 2025, at 3 p.m. Jakarta time through its online e-Auction system. Each objection must be accompanied by supporting evidence demonstrating grounds for disagreement.
“If no objection is filed by the deadline, the ministry will proceed to finalize the evaluation and submit the official selection report to the Minister of Communication and Digital,” the statement read. The ministry is currently led by Meutya Hafid.
Once the ministerial decree is issued, the first-ranked bidder in each region will be formally confirmed as the winner of the 2025 1.4 GHz frequency auction, paving the way for expanded broadband wireless coverage nationwide.
