JAKARTA, investortrust.id - PT Elnusa Tbk, a subsidiary of PT Pertamina Hulu Energi and part of Pertamina's upstream subholding, has allocated capital expenditure of Rp 594 billion ($36,3 million) in 2025, prioritizing growth in the upstream oil and gas services segment to strengthen the company's core energy services business.
Business Development Director of Elnusa, Arief Prasetyo Handoyo, emphasized the company's prudent investment strategy, highlighting adherence to good corporate governance and thorough risk management in executing its business expansion.
“The company applies prudent and targeted business development and investment principles, in line with good governance and risk management,” Arief said in a statement on Sunday, March 16, 2025.
From the total allocated funds, 56.4% was dedicated to upstream and support services, 30.3% to energy distribution and logistics, and the remaining 13.3% for non-project-related expenditure and new business development initiatives.
Arief further explained that Elnusa had initiated various development projects, including pipeline integrity management, well production improvement, fabrications, idle well solutions, electric vehicle (EV) ecosystems, and carbon capture utilization and storage (CCUS).
Currently, Elnusa is developing domestic technology for pipeline cleaning and inspection known as pigging—a process involving the launch of a Pipeline Inspector Gauge (PIG) device into pipelines to perform cleaning and inspection operations from within.
Additionally, the company expanded into new technological advancements, such as binary heat exchangers for geothermal applications, inflow control devices (downhole flow regulators), and ecolift hydraulic pumping units designed to optimize idle wells. These projects represented strategic synergies between Pertamina’s subholding entities and PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE).
In demonstrating its commitment to sustainable energy, Elnusa also developed battery charging stations within EV ecosystems and implemented CCUS technologies, contributing to Indonesia’s broader energy transition goals.
