HUMI Allocates $39.6 Million Capex for Fleet Expansion
JAKARTA, Investortrust.id – PT Humpuss Maritim Internasional Tbk, or HUMI, a shipping company owned by Tommy Soeharto, has earmarked $39.57 million in capital expenditure this year to acquire 10 new vessels.
HUMI's President Director, Tirta Hidayat, announced in an official statement to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) that the company plans to expand its fleet and develop LNG logistics support throughout 2025. “We have prepared a budget of $39.57 million to achieve this goal. Our focus remains on balancing operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and sustainability,” he stated.
This year, HUMI aims to add four oil and chemical tankers, five tugboats, and one platform supply vessel (PSV) to its fleet, alongside bolstering its LNG logistics support capabilities. Tirta highlighted that the company will maintain an aggressive stance on acquiring oil and chemical tankers in 2025 to capitalize on limited global supply.
To enhance operational efficiency, HUMI has prioritized two key initiatives:
- Plan Maintenance System (PMS): This system will undergo strict monitoring to minimize unplanned downtime and ensure timely service delivery.
- Bunker Optimization Technology: HUMI will implement real-time fuel consumption monitoring to reduce operational costs and support its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals by lowering carbon emissions.
“Our strategic approach aims to deliver added value for investors. Enhanced efficiency and reduced emissions will not only improve profitability margins but also align with global sustainability agendas,” Tirta noted.
Through the implementation of PMS and bunker optimization, HUMI's entire fleet is expected to positively impact customers, reinforcing the company's position as a highly competitive player in the global shipping market.
