JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — PT Solusi Sinergi Digital Tbk (WIFI), the Indonesian digital infrastructure provider commercially known as Surge, delivered a massive 118.2% surge in net profit to Rp 496.79 billion ($31.24 million) for the first half of 2026 as demand for connectivity infrastructure across Southeast Asia’s largest economy exploded.
Revenue for the company controlled by prominent Indonesian business figure Hashim Djojohadikusumo more than tripled during the six-month period ended June 30, rising 206% year-on-year to Rp 1.57 trillion ($98.74 million) from Rp 513.46 billion in the prior-year period.
Surge’s operational blowout signals an accelerating appetite for affordable broadband and digital connectivity across Indonesia's middle and lower-income demographics. By scaling low-cost connectivity models alongside fiber-optic infrastructure, Surge is positioning itself as an indispensable telecom asset, drawing close scrutiny from global tech investors tracking emerging market infrastructure.
Core Operations Propel Operating Profits Beyond Double
Surge’s underlying operational profitability expanded at a breakneck pace during the first half. Gross profit leaped 142% year-on-year to Rp 950.58 billion ($59.78 million) from Rp 392.36 billion in the first half of 2025.
Operating profit more than doubled to Rp 773.23 billion ($48.63 million), up from Rp 378.96 billion recorded in the same period last year. The company’s pre-tax profit rose 83.64% year-on-year to Rp 539.01 billion ($33.90 million), aided further by a reduction in net income tax expenses to Rp 42.22 billion ($2.66 million).
Finance income experienced a significant uptick, expanding to Rp 39.99 billion ($2.51 million) compared to Rp 1.80 billion in the previous period. While aggressive infrastructure expansion lifted finance costs to Rp 274.21 billion ($17.25 million), top-line growth comfortably absorbed the increase to keep earnings on a steep upward trajectory.
Expansion Fueling Digital Access
Management highlighted in the company's financial report released in Jakarta that robust financial gains directly track top-line momentum across its core digital solutions and infrastructure networks.
The group's recent initiatives, including ultra-affordable high-speed internet rollouts targeting underserved residential segments, continue to drive elevated volume across its fiber network, cementing Surge's reputation as a key growth player in Indonesia's tech scene.
