BRI Contributes Nearly Rp 100 Trillion to State Through Taxes and Dividends
JAKARTA, investortrust.id – PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, or BRI, Indonesia’s largest state-owned banks, has significantly contributed to the national treasury through taxes and dividends, amounting to nearly Rp 100 trillion, or $6.5 billion, over the past three years.
Significant Financial Contributions
BRI President Director Sunarso revealed that the bank's tax and dividend payments have reached Rp 98.4 trillion in the last three years. "Just recently, on the 16th, we made an interim dividend payment of Rp 10.8 trillion to the state. This is only an advance payment, with more to follow," Sunarso stated at the opening ceremony of BRI UMKM EXPO(RT) 2025 at the International Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
BRI has distributed interim dividends of Rp 20.33 trillion, with the state receiving Rp 10.88 trillion, while public shareholders were allocated Rp 9.45 trillion.

Supporting Indonesia’s MSMEs
Sunarso also highlighted BRI’s extensive reach in serving more than 180 million savings accounts from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). "Through the integration of ultra-micro financial services under our holding structure, we have expanded our MSME support, now extending credit to 50 million MSME clients, including 36 million ultra-micro borrowers," he explained.
BRI officially inaugurated the BRI UMKM EXPO(RT) 2025, coinciding with the BRI Microfinance Outlook 2025, at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, on January 30, 2025. The event, themed “Broadening MSMEs’ Global Outreach,” will run from Thursday to Sunday, February 2, 2025.
On Friday, January 31, 2025, BRI will also host the BRI Microfinance Outlook 2025, featuring discussions on the latest economic trends with distinguished speakers from Indonesia and abroad.
Promoting Local MSMEs on a Global Stage
The event, now in its sixth year, serves as a strategic platform for BRI to elevate Indonesian MSMEs to a higher level. Thousands of local businesses will showcase their top products, while live performances from Indonesia’s leading musicians will enhance the event’s appeal. BRI remains committed to strengthening the capabilities of MSMEs to compete in international markets.
