TANGERANG, Investortrust.id – Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has signed a series of memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with prospective dealers and third-party service workshops during the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025, signaling its deepening commitment to the Indonesian market.
“This is a very special occasion for the VinFast family as we formalize new partnerships with dealers and independent service workshops,” said VinFast Indonesia CEO Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto at the event on Friday, July 25, 2025, at ICE BSD City, Tangerang.
According to Kariyanto, the MoUs mark a key milestone in the company’s strategy to strengthen its distribution and after-sales infrastructure across the archipelago. VinFast currently operates 24 dealerships in major cities including Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, and Bali, and aims to raise the number to 30 by the end of July.
“To serve more customers, we are expanding our dealership network. Today’s MoUs were signed with selected investors, as inviting all of them at once would be impractical,” Kariyanto explained.
Expanding Access to After-Sales Services
VinFast is also partnering with independent workshops to offer service access beyond its dealership network. These third-party facilities will be equipped to handle EV maintenance, software updates, and diagnostic services—eliminating the need for customers to travel to official showrooms.
“Our goal is to make EV ownership more convenient and efficient by providing nearby service access,” said Kariyanto. “We thank all prospective investors and workshop partners for their trust and courage in joining VinFast’s journey in Indonesia.”
Building a Full-Fledged EV Ecosystem
The move is part of VinFast’s broader strategy to build a comprehensive EV ecosystem in Indonesia. The company has announced plans to build a vehicle assembly plant in Subang, West Java, and has partnered with Green SM, an electric taxi operator, to accelerate EV adoption.
To support infrastructure, VinFast is rolling out V-GREEN, a public EV charging network across key locations, and has introduced a lineup of models ranging from the compact VF 3 mini SUV to the mid-size VF 7 C-SUV.
The company is also attracting customers through a range of incentives, including free charging, 0% financing, and buyback guarantees of up to 90%.
VinFast has cemented its industry presence by officially joining the Association of Indonesia Automotive Industries (GAIKINDO), a move that Kariyanto said paves the way for stronger cooperation with local stakeholders and policymakers in driving sustainable transport.
GAIKINDO Chairman Yohannes Nangoi welcomed the move, saying: “VinFast brings a fresh spirit to Indonesia’s auto industry and will help accelerate the shift to cleaner mobility.”
