Budget Efficiency Opens Path for Private Sector to Support Government’s Development Agenda
JAKARTA, investortrust.id – The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, or Kadin, has pledged to support President Prabowo Subianto’s administration in accelerating national development, particularly in infrastructure, despite ongoing budget efficiency measures.
Kadin Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie emphasized that business leaders are eager to collaborate with the government to implement programs with direct societal impact.
“The government and the private sector must work together, especially in times of budget efficiency. This is where the private sector plays a greater role in fostering innovation,” Anindya stated after attending a Kadin-hosted breakfast meeting with Deputy Minister of Finance Thomas Djiwandono at Hotel Aryaduta, Jakarta, on Friday.
Private Sector Endorses Budget Efficiency
Anindya underscored that the business community fully supports the government’s budget efficiency drive, recognizing the rationale behind these measures.
“Efficiency is never easy, but it is necessary. More importantly, if funds are reallocated to long-term investments, it becomes a strategic move,” he explained.
The CEO of Bakrie & Brothers Tbk (BNBR) highlighted that Kadin is particularly aligned with Prabowo’s policy focus on human capital development. He pointed out that government programs such as free nutritious meals (MBG) and free health check-ups are crucial investments for Indonesia’s future.
“We need to ensure long-term investments, as it’s challenging to compete if our people lack proper nutrition and healthcare. High IQ and good health are essential for a competitive workforce,” he added.
High-Level Coordination
The exclusive breakfast meeting was organized by Kadin’s Foreign Affairs Division and attended by key officials, including Deputy Finance Minister Thomas Djiwandono and Head of the Fiscal Policy Agency (BKF) Febrio Nathan Kacaribu.
Kadin’s support aligns with the government’s commitment to channeling resources into priority sectors, ensuring that Indonesia’s development agenda continues despite fiscal constraints.
