InJourney Projects 10.8 Million Air Passengers for Eid 2025
JAKARTA, investortrust.id - PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia, a state-run tourism holding company in Indonesia, projects a significant surge in domestic air travel for the upcoming 2025 Eid holiday season. This surge underscores the company’s robust preparations to ensure millions of holidaymakers can journey home smoothly during the festive period.
InJourney, as the company is also called, announced the projection of 10.8 million air passengers for Eid 2025 in a statement delivered at the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises on Thursday, Mar 6, 2025. This figure indicated a 9.3% increase compared to the previous year.
President Director of InJourney, Maya Watono, stated that each subsidiary under InJourney Group had prepared various events to enliven Ramadan and Eid. “Welcoming the festive homecoming period and the Eid holiday, we committed to providing the best service for Indonesians, starting with memorable experiences at airports all the way through to our tourism destinations,” she said in a press conference at the ministry’s office in Jakarta.
Maya explained that InJourney expected 10.8 million passenger movements across its airports during the peak travel window, a figure that reflected the anticipated surge in domestic and international traffic. She emphasized that InJourney Airports and InJourney Airports Services had made careful preparations to manage the rise in passenger volume and aircraft movements.
Domestic passenger numbers were projected to increase by 9.24%, while international passenger traffic was expected to grow by 9.5% compared to the previous year. Meanwhile, aircraft movements were estimated to reach 81,401, marking a 5.10% rise from 2024 with an average of 3,700 flights per day.
To address the influx of travelers, InJourney Airports and InJourney Airports Services provided optimal ground handling and baggage handling solutions, as well as more personnel and enhanced facility care. These measures included mobilizing 11,912 internal staff and 5,293 external personnel. Key supporting amenities were also prepared, including 1,632 check-in counters, 222 self-check-in machines, 17,508 trolleys, 1,181 toilets, 246 prayer rooms, 185 conveyor belts, and 40 golf carts.
Maya noted that in the aviation segment, InJourney supported the government’s policy to lower ticket prices by offering airport tariff reductions. The Passenger Service Charge, known locally as PJP2U, and landing and parking fees, known locally as PJP4U, both received a 50% discount for tickets purchased between Mar 1 and Apr 7, 2025, applicable to flights departing between Mar 24 and Apr 7, 2025.
She further mentioned the use of various operational tools to handle the peak travel season efficiently. These tools included the Airport Operation Control Center, Traffic-Based Operations Management, Terminal Operation Control, Dedicated Cleaner teams, and on-site leadership oversight—especially in light of the airline Citilink’s relocation from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1B at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport.
Additionally, extra flight slots were granted during the Eid travel window to optimize airport capacity while still maintaining the required level of service.
