DAVOS, Investortrust.id — Indonesia welcomes an invitation from Donald Trump on Wednesday, Jan 21, 2026 in Davos to join the Board of Peace as part of a multilateral initiative to consolidate a Gaza ceasefire, support reconstruction, and advance a rules based peace process, a move expected to elevate Indonesia’s diplomatic role in the Middle East. The invitation was extended alongside seven other countries during meetings on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum.
The joint statement said the foreign ministers of Türkiye, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates agreed to participate in the Board of Peace to promote a peaceful and sustainable resolution to the conflict. The ministers added that each country would sign membership documents in line with domestic legal procedures.
According to Indonesia’s Foreign Ministry, the ministers reaffirmed full support for the peace initiative led by Trump and committed to backing the Board of Peace mission as a transitional governing mechanism. The plan was outlined in a Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict.
“The ministers reaffirmed their support for the peace efforts led by President Trump and reiterated their commitment to support the mission of the Board of Peace as a transitional governance structure,” the ministry said in a statement posted on its official X account. The statement added that the initiative was supported by United Nations Security Council Resolution 2803.
The resolution aimed to consolidate a permanent ceasefire, support Gaza’s reconstruction, and advance a just and lasting peace grounded in Palestinian self determination and international law. The ministers said the framework was intended to open a pathway toward security and stability for all countries and peoples in the region.
