JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk or UNVR has sold its Sariwangi branded tea business on Wednesday, Jan 7, 2026 in Jakarta for Rp 1.5 trillion as part of a strategy to unlock short-term investment value while sharpening its focus on core businesses, a move expected to support long-term shareholder returns. The transaction was disclosed through a filing to the Indonesia Stock Exchange and involves an unaffiliated buyer.
The buyer was identified as PT Savoria Kreasi Rasa, a company with no affiliation to UNVR. The agreed transaction value was Rp 1.5 trillion excluding applicable taxes, according to the disclosure.
An independent valuation conducted by Suwendho Rinaldy and Rekan Public Appraisal Office assessed the fair market value of the business at Rp 1.488 trillion. UNVR said the transaction value was therefore in line with the independent appraisal.
The company said the transaction value was equivalent to about 45 percent of its equity based on financial statements as of Sept 30, 2025. The Sariwangi tea business accounted for 2.5 percent of total assets, 3.1 percent of net profit, and 2.7 percent of revenue.
UNVR said completion of the divestment is scheduled for Monday, March 2, 2026, or another date as mutually agreed by both parties in writing. At completion, the parties will sign the handover report and asset transfer agreements related to the tea business.
Management said the divestment would not have a material impact on the company’s operational activities, legal standing, or business continuity. The sale was intended to allow UNVR to realize investment value in the short term while maintaining focus on its core portfolio.
The company said concentrating resources on its main consumer goods segments would support sustainable growth and enhance shareholder value over the long run, as Indonesia’s fast-moving consumer goods market becomes increasingly competitive.
UNVR Valuation & Investor Sentiment
