JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk or WSKT secures a Rp 757.05 billion contract on Monday, Jan 5, 2026 in Jakarta to build Sekolah Rakyat facilities across three regions in Aceh as part of the government’s push to expand access to quality education and reduce poverty. The project is expected to support human capital development while strengthening public infrastructure in underserved areas.
The contract covers construction in Nagan Raya Regency, Aceh Singkil Regency, and Subulussalam City. The signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of Public Works office in Jakarta and was witnessed by Waskita Operations Director I Ari Asmoko.
Ari said the Aceh Sekolah Rakyat project reflected the company’s commitment to supporting national priority programs. He added that the schools were designed not only to improve education quality but also to deliver tangible welfare benefits for local communities.
“We are grateful and proud to once again be entrusted with the construction of Sekolah Rakyat,” Ari said in an official statement. “This project is urgently needed, especially for children in regions with limited access to proper education facilities.”
He said Sekolah Rakyat was part of President Prabowo Subianto’s priority agenda to alleviate poverty by providing quality education to children from poor and extremely poor households. Waskita, he said, would accelerate construction so the facilities could be used as soon as possible.
“We believe the faster the buildings are completed, the faster communities will benefit,” Ari said. “For Waskita, this project is not only about fulfilling a mandate, but also about educating the nation’s future generations.”
The project includes school buildings from elementary to senior high level, along with student and teacher dormitories, canteens, sports facilities, places of worship, and multipurpose halls.
Waskita has secured multiple Sekolah Rakyat contracts in recent months. In November 2025, the company won a Rp 1.23 trillion project in South Sulawesi, followed by a Rp 1.16 trillion contract in East Java in early December, and a Rp 719.25 billion project in South Sumatra at the end of last year.
