JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — Bank Indonesia, the country central bank, reported on Tuesday, Dec 9, 2025 that consumer confidence has risen in November as households registered stronger views on income, job conditions, and future economic prospects, lifting the Consumer Confidence Index to 124 from 121.2 in October, a shift that reflects broad optimism across spending and age groups. The central bank said the improvement has come from firmer current conditions and brighter expectations, signaling a more constructive outlook for consumption in the months ahead.
Bank Indonesia said its Current Economic Condition Index climbed to 111.5 while the Consumer Expectation Index reached 136.6, both higher than the previous month, driven by stronger assessments of income, durable goods purchases, and job availability.
BI Executive Director of Communications Ramdan Denny Prakoso said confidence strengthened across all spending groups, with households spending more than Rp 5 million posting an index of 130.6, followed by the Rp 4.1 million to Rp 5 million group at 126.9.
He said confidence also increased across every age segment, led by respondents aged 20 to 30 who recorded an index of 128.6, and noted that most surveyed cities saw rising sentiment, with Manado, Mataram, and Medan showing the largest gains.
The central bank said perceptions of current income improved as the Income Index reached 117.1, while the Durable Goods Index rose to 107.5 and the Job Availability Index reached 102.6.
It said most spending groups reported higher income sentiment, although the Rp 3.1 million to Rp 4 million group posted a lower reading of 109.5, and added that respondents aged 20 to 30 continued to show the strongest confidence at 125.9.
Job availability perceptions also improved among most education groups, with high school graduates at 100.0 and diploma holders at 110.1, though respondents aged above 51 remained in pessimistic territory.
Durable goods purchasing sentiment increased across spending groups except for households spending Rp 3.1 million to Rp 4 million, which saw the index fall to 103.
Looking ahead, BI said consumers expected stronger economic conditions over the next six months as the Expectation Index rose to 136.6 from 133.4, supported by higher income expectations at 140.6, improved job availability expectations at 135.3, and stronger business activity expectations at 133.8.
