JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — The Attorney General's Office decided to request the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights to lift the travel ban on PT Djarum President Director Victor Rachmat Hartono. Previously, prosecutors had barred Victor and four other individuals from leaving the country in connection with an investigation into alleged tax corruption covering the 2016–2020 period.
"It is true that investigators have requested the cancellation of the travel ban," said the Attorney General's Office spokesperson Anang Supriatna on Saturday.
Anang explained that the decision was made because investigators assessed Victor as being cooperative throughout the tax-crime investigation.
"Because according to investigators he has been cooperative," he said.
The Attorney General's Office had earlier imposed a six-month travel ban starting November 14, 2025, on five individuals linked to an alleged scheme to reduce a company's tax obligations for the 2016–2020 period involving tax officials at the Ministry of Finance.
The five include former Director General of Taxes Ken Dwijugiasteadi, PT Djarum President Director Victor Rachmat Hartono, tax consultant Heru Budijanto Prabowo, and two Directorate General of Taxes employees, Karl Layman and Bernadette Ning Dijah Prananingrum.
Investigators previously searched several locations related to the alleged tax corruption case. From those searches, authorities seized documents, a Toyota Alphard, and two large motorcycles.
