JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — A nationwide survey by Indikator Politik Indonesia shows that 77.7 percent of Indonesians are satisfied with the performance of President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka during their first year in office, driven largely by government aid and food programs that resonate strongly with the public.
Executive Director of Indikator Politik Indonesia Burhanuddin Muhtadi said, “[Respondents] who stated they are very satisfied and fairly satisfied in the first year of President Prabowo’s administration reached 77.7 percent. That’s quite high.” He spoke during a virtual press conference on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025.
The survey found that 20.8 percent of respondents were less satisfied with the government’s performance, while only a small fraction expressed dissatisfaction. Burhanuddin explained that the high satisfaction rate was supported by the government’s social assistance and direct cash transfer programs, particularly the food aid initiative and the free nutritious meal program, known as MBG.
“One thing that gained the public’s attention is the government’s food and cash assistance. At the same time, negative news related to the free nutritious meal program, such as food poisoning cases, has significantly declined,” he said. “The MBG program also started to receive more positive views after previously being hit by poisoning issues. Fortunately, those cases have subsided.”
The professor from UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta added that the public’s perception of anti-corruption efforts under Prabowo’s administration was “fairly positive,” with 19.5 percent of respondents expressing satisfaction with the government’s actions in combating corruption.
“Among those who said they are satisfied overall, 19.5 percent specifically mentioned that President Prabowo’s effort to eradicate corruption was successful. Again, this is a perception,” he noted.
The survey was conducted between Oct. 20 and 27, 2025, with a total of 1,220 respondents aged 17 years and older or married, representing the Indonesian electorate. Sampling was carried out using multistage random sampling across all provinces, with a margin of error of approximately 2.9 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
Respondents were interviewed face-to-face by trained enumerators, and quality control checks were conducted randomly on 20 percent of interviews through follow-up visits. No significant discrepancies were found.
Top-Rated Ministers in Prabowo’s Cabinet
In a separate finding from the same survey, Indikator Politik Indonesia revealed the ten ministers with the highest public satisfaction levels, led by Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman, who achieved an approval rating of 84.9 percent.
Following closely behind were Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya at 84.5 percent and Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa at 84.1 percent.
“Pak Amran Sulaiman recorded the highest satisfaction among senior officials,” Burhanuddin said, addrresing Amran with a respectful Indonesian honorific for ‘Mr.’ “Among those who know him, the satisfaction rate is very high, mostly from farmers who feel supported and well served.”
He emphasized that high satisfaction did not necessarily correlate with media exposure. “Some officials may not often appear in the media, but their work is directly felt by the people who benefit from their programs,” he explained.
The survey’s methodology and sample design were identical to those used in the broader government satisfaction study, ensuring consistent and representative results across Indonesia’s provinces.
