JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — President Prabowo Subianto welcomes Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva for a state visit at Merdeka Palace in Jakarta on Thursday, Oct 23, 2025. President Lula arrived at Merdeka Palace at around 10:08 a.m. dressed in a blue suit, greeted by an official ceremony on the palace lawn. President Prabowo, also in a blue suit, personally received his counterpart on the west terrace of the palace, shaking hands and embracing before walking together to the ceremonial ground.
The ceremony began with the national anthems of both nations, accompanied by a 21-gun salute. The two leaders then jointly inspected the honor guard before proceeding to introduce their respective delegations.
From Indonesia’s side, the delegation included Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Agriculture Minister Andi Amran Sulaiman, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni, Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Trade Minister Budi Santoso, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, and Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Brian Yuliarto.
After the welcoming ceremony, both presidents proceeded to the Credential Room for a photo session and the signing of the guest book. President Prabowo then invited President Lula to the bilateral meeting room to begin formal discussions.
According to State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Lula is also scheduled to visit Indonesia’s Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program site in Jakarta as part of his agenda. “It is planned for tomorrow, depending on the schedule,” Prasetyo said on Wednesday, Oct 22, 2025.
