TANGERANG, Investortrust.id — Trade Expo Indonesia 2025, the country’s largest annual trade exhibition, officially opens with a target of USD 16.5 billion in transactions, underscoring Indonesia’s commitment to expanding exports and deepening downstream industrialization.
The 40th edition of the event, organized by the Ministry of Trade at the Indonesia Convention Exhibition (ICE) BSD City in Tangerang, carries the theme “Discover Indonesia’s Excellence: Trade Beyond Boundaries.” It showcases the nation’s flagship products and services to a global audience, drawing 1,619 exhibitors and 8,045 buyers from 130 countries.
Representing President Prabowo Subianto, Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan said the government’s trade policy remains on track, as reflected in the continued rise of national exports.
“As of this month, export value has grown by more than 7% compared with last year, while our trade surplus has widened to USD 29 billion. This is an outstanding achievement and a testament to the hard work of all stakeholders,” Zulkifli said.
He expressed confidence that with cooperation and collective optimism, Indonesia would continue strengthening its position as a globally competitive economic power.
Minister of Trade Budi Santoso noted that TEI 2025 is not merely an exhibition but also a concrete manifestation of President Prabowo’s Asta Cita vision—an eight-point agenda to promote industrialization and strengthen Indonesia’s role in global supply chains.
“TEI is the realization of our national commitment to downstreaming and industrial transformation, as we move toward the vision of Indonesia Emas,” Budi said in his keynote address.
The exhibition features three main zones: food and agriculture products, manufactured goods, and services and lifestyle. Alongside the showcase, the event hosts a series of business activities including business matching, counseling, and international forums connecting Indonesian enterprises with global investors and distributors.
TEI 2025 also integrates the Pangan Nusa Exhibition in Hall 9 of ICE BSD, highlighting Indonesia’s culinary heritage and food diversity. The parallel event allows small and medium culinary businesses to expand their global networks and explore export opportunities.
Budi extended appreciation to all supporting institutions, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Indonesian embassies worldwide, the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), and foreign chambers that actively facilitated the participation of international buyers.
He also thanked main sponsors such as Bank Mandiri, Pertamina, and the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS), as well as public and private entities that contributed to the event’s success.
As part of the ceremony, Budi presented the Primaniyarta Awards to top-performing exporters and regional leaders for their contributions to export development and national branding, and the Primaduta Awards to loyal buyers and Indonesian envoys who have significantly supported non-oil and gas exports.
The opening ceremony was attended by several prominent figures, including Minister for Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises Maman Abdurrahman, Minister for Villages and Development of Disadvantaged Regions Yandri Susanto, and Banten Governor Andra Soni.
Also in attendance were Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Anindya Bakrie, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs of Timor-Leste Fransisco Kalbuady Lay, Yemen’s Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry Salem Mohamed Ahmed Salman, and Egypt’s Investment Authority Chairman Hossam Heiba, along with ambassadors from Indonesia and partner nations.
With the spirit of collaboration and optimism, the 40th Trade Expo Indonesia is expected to become a key milestone in boosting national trade performance and advancing Indonesia’s role in the global economy.
