JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — Pamerindo Indonesia has launched the Plastic Material & Chemical Exhibition in collaboration with the Indonesian Polymer Association, as part of the Plastic & Rubber Indonesia 2025 event opening on Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2025, at JiExpo Kemayoran. The exhibition focuses on research, material innovation, and market access, supporting projections that Indonesia’s plastic exports will reach $3.1 billion by 2028.
Portfolio Director of PT Pamerindo Indonesia Meysia Stephannie said the new sub-show reflects growing urgency for platforms that advance both collaboration and innovation in plastic exports.
“We see an urgency to create a platform that is not only an exhibition but also collaborative, driving research and innovation to support export growth,” Meysia said at a press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2025.
The plastic and polymer industry has become a strategic sector for the national economy. In the second quarter of 2025, the manufacturing sector contributed 18.67% to Indonesia’s gross domestic product, up from 18.52% in the same quarter last year.
Meysia added that domestic consumption is projected to grow steadily, surpassing 7 million tons in 2024 and reaching more than 9 million tons by 2030.
At the same event, Coordinator of Organizational Development at the Indonesian Polymer Association (HPI) Tita Puspitasari emphasized that rising industry demand must be matched by innovation, efficiency, and sustainability.
Tita noted that the urgency of advanced materials, ranging from engineering plastics to eco-friendly polymers, continues to increase in line with green industry trends. She underlined that innovation producing lighter, stronger, and more sustainable materials is now essential to boosting industry competitiveness.
“Recycling technology also presents a strategic opportunity to build a circular economy that is efficient and sustainability-driven. Through this collaboration, Indonesia’s polymer innovation is strengthened to contribute tangibly while reinforcing the country’s position in global markets,” Tita said.
