JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — The Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s China Committee reaffirmed its commitment on Monday, Aug. 25, 2025, to strengthening bilateral cooperation between Indonesia and China while attracting more investment into the country.
The pledge was delivered by Kadin Indonesia China Committee (KIKT) Chairman Garibaldi “Boy” Thohir at the closing ceremony of “Road to Indonesia: Celebrating 75 Years of Indonesia–China Friendship” in Jakarta.
“This year is a special milestone for diplomatic relations between Indonesia and China, which have been built on sustainable collaboration in diplomacy, trade, technology, arts, culture, education, and entertainment. In line with KIKT’s mission, we consistently work with the government to ensure that economic cooperation between Indonesia and China runs smoothly,” Thohir said in his keynote address.

ASEAN Road Journey
As part of the anniversary celebrations, Thohir highlighted his participation in the “AITO Intelligent Drive to ASEAN,” a 5,000-kilometer journey by renewable-energy vehicles from China to Indonesia, passing through Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.
The two-week expedition was not just symbolic, he said, but also demonstrated the future of mobility and the potential for deeper ASEAN connectivity. “Alhamdulillah, after more than two weeks on the road, this renewable-energy vehicle journey safely arrived in Jakarta,” he added.

Strategic Programs Throughout the Year
Throughout 2025, KIKT organized several high-profile events, including the Indonesia–China Business Reception attended by President Prabowo Subianto and Chinese Premier Li Qiang, the Hijriah Food Festival, and a special edition of commemorative stamps marking 75 years of friendship.
“With support from both the Indonesian and Chinese governments, KIKT can continue to enhance its contribution in strengthening bilateral relations that will generate significant benefits for both countries,” Thohir said.
