JAKARTA, investortrust.id - President Prabowo Subianto reaffirms his unwavering stance on corruption. He announces his intention to build a special facility for corruptors on a distant island and warns that those who attempt to escape will encounter sharks.
In a ceremony at the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikdasmen) in Jakarta on Thursday, Mar 13, 2025, Prabowo stated that he would allocate funds for constructing a prison in a remote location so that detainees would be unable to leave. “We will find an island. If they try to escape, they will meet sharks,” he said.
He emphasized his readiness to confront corruptors and criminal networks, asserting that he would sacrifice everything for the nation. “I will not back down against corruptors. They should know I am prepared to give my life for this country. I am not afraid of any mafia. Especially since I have the police and the military, and teachers will also support me,” said Prabowo.
He further noted that no country with rampant corruption could prosper and that corruption ultimately harmed citizens. “Corruptors are the reason teachers struggle, as well as doctors, nurses, and farmers. We will expel them from Indonesia if necessary,” he stressed.
The Head of State explained that corruption posed Indonesia’s greatest challenge due to the resulting leaks in government programs. He said the issue prevented resources, including education programs, from reaching the people. “That is why my team and I are determined to work as hard as we can with all the means at our disposal to achieve a clean government. A corruption-free government is imperative,” he said.
Prabowo believed that by stamping out corruption and sealing these leaks, Indonesia’s wealth could be used for its people’s benefit. He also predicted that the country would no longer face poverty or hunger if corruption ceased.
