Indosat Reports $300 Million Net Income, Driven by Revenue Growth, Efficiency
JAKARTA, investortrust.id – PT Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison Tbk, or ISAT, a leading telecommunications provider in Indonesia, reported a 9% increase in net profit attributable to shareholders, rising from Rp 4.50 trillion to Rp 4.91 trillion ($300 million) by the end of 2024. The company's revenue also saw an uptick of 9.1%, reaching Rp 55.88 trillion from Rp 51.22 trillion.
In an official statement released in Jakarta on Monday, Feb. 10, 2025, Indosat’s management attributed this growth primarily to a 7.5% increase in mobile revenue, which climbed to Rp 47.03 trillion. Meanwhile, the company's MIDI (Multimedia, Data, Internet) segment posted an impressive 23.4% rise to Rp 7.98 trillion. However, fixed-line telecommunications revenue declined by 14.1%, falling from Rp 1 trillion to Rp 864.4 billion.
Indosat also recorded an accelerated rise in EBITDA, growing by 10.2% year-on-year (YoY) to Rp 26.37 trillion. This resulted in an EBITDA margin of 47.2% in 2024. “This figure reflects the company’s ability to efficiently convert revenue into earnings,” the management stated.
The company highlighted that this profit growth underscores its strong financial position and capacity to generate substantial returns for stakeholders.
Despite the solid financial performance, Indosat’s subscriber base declined by 4.1 million, bringing the total number of customers to 94.7 million in 2024. However, the average revenue per user (ARPU) increased by 6.6% to Rp 38,000 per customer.
Indosat also reported a significant 12.2% growth in data traffic throughout 2024. To accommodate this surge, the company expanded its network infrastructure, increasing the number of 4G base transceiver stations (BTS) to 196,000. This investment aims to enhance network capacity and ensure an improved user experience.
