JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — Archi Indonesia (ARCI), one of Southeast Asia’s premier pure-play gold producers, is shifting into high gear with a $120 million smelter expansion set to break ground this year. The company confirmed Thursday that it will self-fund the massive capacity hike, underscoring a period of extraordinary financial strength for the miner.
Investor Relations representative Fredric revealed that a positive scoping study completed in January 2026 has given the green light for the firm to increase its processing capacity from 4 million tons to 6 million tons per annum. "The scoping study shows that this 50% increase in plant capacity is highly feasible," Fredric stated during a public expose in Jakarta on May 7.
For global mining investors, Archi’s decision to fund a $120 million expansion purely from internal cash—while simultaneously maintaining a 60% dividend payout—is a rare display of fiscal health. By boosting processing capacity, Archi is positioning itself to capture higher margins as global gold prices remain volatile.
Furthermore, this expansion supports Indonesia’s broader "downstreaming" agenda, ensuring more value is captured within the country’s borders. With Q1 profits nearly tripling, Archi is proving to be a high-velocity player in the regional materials sector.
Internal Cash Fuels Expansion
The budget for the project, estimated between $100 million and $120 million, will be deployed immediately to ensure the smelter is operational within the projected timeline. Fredric emphasized that the company’s strong balance sheet allows them to bypass external debt markets for this phase of growth.
“The budget based on the scoping study for the smelter capacity addition is around $100 million to $120 million until it is ready to operate,” Fredric explained. This "all-cash" approach significantly de-risks the project for shareholders, insulating the expansion from rising interest rates.
Triple-Digit Profit Growth
The expansion announcement comes on the heels of a blockbuster earnings report. For the first quarter of 2026, Archi saw its net profit skyrocket by 187.9% to $30.19 million, up from $10.48 million in the same period last year. Revenue followed suit, climbing from $90.78 million to $136.91 million.
This momentum follows a solid 2025 performance, where the company booked a full-year net profit of $102.52 million. President Director Rudy Suhendra noted that the company’s operational efficiency and increased output are finally reflecting in the bottom line.
High-Yield Dividend Payouts
During the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders (AGMS) on May 7, Archi also solidified its reputation as a dividend-friendly stock. The company set its 2025 dividend at $60 million—roughly Rp 1.02 trillion—equivalent to a 60% payout ratio.
“The use of the 2025 net profit consists of a dividend worth $60 million, or approximately 60% of the profit posted by the company,” Rudy stated. While $30 million was already distributed as an interim dividend in December 2025, the remaining $30 million is scheduled to hit investor accounts in June 2026.
With its aggressive expansion and high-yield strategy, Archi Indonesia is cementing its role as a cornerstone of the Indonesian mining landscape, offering investors a mix of immediate returns and long-term industrial growth.
