JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — Statistics Indonesia reports on Monday, Dec 1, 2025 in Jakarta that inflation slows in November as headline inflation eases to 2.72 percent from 2.82 percent in October, even as gold jewelry remains the strongest price driver and pushes up core and administered components across the country. The agency states that the Consumer Price Index still rises 0.17 percent month on month, signaling continued pressures in personal care, food items, and air transport while all provinces record annual inflation.
Statistics Indonesia or BPS recorded an increase in the Consumer Price Index from 109.04 in October to 109.22 in November.
Deputy Chief Statistician for Distribution and Services Pudji Ismartini said, "The largest contributor to monthly inflation was the personal care and other services group, which recorded inflation of 1.21 percent and contributed 0.09 percent."
Gold jewelry dominated the group and contributed 0.08 percent in November as global bullion prices stayed elevated. Other contributors included air transport fares at 0.04 percent, shallots at 0.03 percent, and fresh fish and carrots at 0.02 percent each.
Pudji added, "We still saw commodities that contributed to deflation, including broiler chicken meat at 0.03 percent. Rice and red chili contributed deflation of 0.02 percent each, while eggs and potatoes contributed 0.01 percent."
Core inflation rose 0.17 percent with a 0.11 percent contribution, driven mainly by gold jewelry. Administered prices increased 0.24 percent with a 0.05 percent contribution, led by air transport fares.
Volatile food inflation rose 0.02 percent with a 0.01 percent contribution, supported by price increases in shallots, carrots, oranges, mustard greens, cucumbers, and long beans.
Annual inflation eased to 2.72 percent from 2.82 percent in October as the CPI climbed from 106.33 in November last year to 109.22 this year. Food, beverages, and tobacco posted inflation of 4.25 percent and contributed 1.22 percent, driven mainly by red chili. Pudji said, "Outside this group, gold jewelry remained a key contributor."
Personal care and other services saw the steepest annual increase of 12.49 percent with a 0.82 percent contribution. Information, communication, and financial services posted annual deflation of 0.25 percent.
Core inflation increased 2.36 percent year on year and contributed 1.52 percent, supported by higher prices for gold jewelry, cooking oil, and instant coffee. Administered prices rose 1.58 percent year on year with a 0.32 percent contribution due to higher drinking water tariffs in 14 regions and machine-made kretek cigarettes.
Volatile food inflation climbed 5.48 percent annually, driven by red chili, rice, eggs, chicken meat, and shallots.
All provinces recorded annual inflation, with Riau the highest at 4.27 percent and North Sulawesi the lowest at 0.65 percent.
