JAKARTA, investortrust.id — Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa has announced that the government will pursue 200 major tax evaders whose cases have already been finalized in court.
“We want to chase them. Execute. The target is around Rp 50–60 trillion, we will collect it soon, and they cannot escape,” Purbaya said during a press conference on the State Budget report at the Ministry of Finance office in Jakarta on Monday, Sept 22, 2025.
Purbaya emphasized that strengthening tax enforcement will be key. The ministry is working closely with the Attorney General’s Office, the National Police, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), and the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK). Data exchange with other ministries and agencies will also be expanded to ease tax collection efforts.

He also addressed the delayed implementation of the Coretax system, the ministry’s backbone for tax administration. Purbaya pledged to accelerate improvements. “I will bring in external IT experts to fix this quickly, within a month,” he said.
Turning to excise revenues, Purbaya said the government had summoned e-commerce platforms including Bukalapak, Tokopedia, and Blibli to immediately stop the sale of illegal goods, particularly cigarettes.
“The request was by Oct 1, but I told them to act faster. We already know who the sellers are, and we will start taking action. Anyone still selling, stop now,” Purbaya said.
He noted that enforcement would not only target online platforms but also suppliers and small retailers. “We will check. Whoever sells illegal cigarettes, wherever they are, I will conduct random inspections,” he added.
