OSAKA, Investortrust.id — Indonesia has secured $23.8 billion in investment commitments at Expo 2025 Osaka, with President Prabowo Subianto visiting Pavilion Indonesia on Saturday, Sept 20, 2025, to show his support for the milestone achievement.
The commitments are targeted for realization starting in 2026, underscoring Indonesia’s ambition to accelerate its path toward advanced-economy status.
Minister of National Development Planning Rachmat Pambudy, who also serves as Head of the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), said the commitments marked a breakthrough in attracting global capital to Indonesia’s priority sectors.
“The total investment projects as of today amount to $23.8 billion. This is significant for helping Indonesia advance through diverse investment flows,” Rachmat said at the expo.
Pavilion as Symbol of National Branding
Beyond investment, Indonesia’s participation has also strengthened its global brand. Vivi Yulaswati, Deputy for Economy and Digital Transformation at Bappenas and Commissioner General of Pavilion Indonesia, explained that the pavilion’s design embodied both heritage and ambition.
“The Pavilion Indonesia represents a grand ship, reflecting our identity as a maritime nation. It showcases not only the vessel itself but also the richness of culture, cuisine, and natural heritage closely tied to the sea,” Vivi said.
The pavilion operates under the broader theme of Golden Indonesia 2045, which envisions the country as a top global economy by its centennial year of independence.

Strong Global Attention
The Indonesian pavilion has drawn the attention of royalty, prime ministers, and senior ministers from across the world. Domestically, it has been supported by central ministries, regional governments, business leaders, and the broader community.
“Most visitors are Japanese, but we have also received many guests from other countries. Their enthusiasm has been remarkable,” Vivi added.
Among those visitors was Miwako, a Japanese attendee who expressed admiration after returning for a second visit. She praised the immersive decoration, projection mapping shows, and the hospitality of the staff. “From social media, Pavilion Indonesia looks exciting with its dances and music. Inside, I felt cool and happy, and the displays of animals and forests felt very real,” she said.
Boosting Tourism and Trade Prospects
The Indonesian government sees the event as more than an investment showcase. By engaging Japanese and international audiences, officials expect the pavilion to spark new flows of tourism and trade.
The pavilion’s maritime imagery, immersive technologies, and cultural performances have been crafted to highlight Indonesia’s natural beauty, making it a gateway for potential visitors to explore the country firsthand.
