JAKARTA, investortrust.id – President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto has wrapped up his official visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, following a bilateral meeting with King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein at the Al Husseiniya Palace in Amman on Monday, April 14, 2025. In a press briefing after the meeting, Prabowo emphasized both countries’ commitment to strengthening cooperation in key sectors and advancing humanitarian efforts in the Middle East.
Speaking to the media, President Prabowo outlined the areas discussed during the talks, including education, science, technology, economic development, and agriculture. He noted Jordan’s role as a key supplier of affordable fertilizers such as phosphate and potash for Indonesia’s agricultural needs.
“We discussed strengthening cooperation in education, science, technology, and the economy. We also buy large volumes of phosphate and potash here—some of the most affordable in the world,” said Prabowo.
The humanitarian crisis in Gaza was also a focal point of the bilateral discussions. Prabowo reiterated Indonesia’s position in supporting a ceasefire and offering assistance to help accelerate peace efforts in the region.
“We also talked about Gaza, about how we can help from a humanitarian perspective. We are calling for an immediate ceasefire and are prepared to contribute in any way that can speed up the peace process,” the President stated.
The visit to Jordan marks a critical chapter in Prabowo’s broader Middle East and Türkiye tour, aimed at strengthening Indonesia’s diplomatic presence and contribution to Islamic solidarity and global humanitarian causes. Prabowo’s meetings, particularly with King Abdullah II, are expected to elevate Indonesia–Jordan relations and bolster collaborative initiatives across the Muslim world.
“We received a clear update on the situation, and we’re hopeful that a breakthrough may happen soon. Of course, we must consider and defend the interests of all parties, especially the Palestinian people,” Prabowo concluded.
