Prabowo Invites Indian Investors to Develop Infrastructure in Indonesia
NEW DELHI, investortrust.id – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto extended an invitation to Indian investors to participate in Indonesia's infrastructure development during a joint statement with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi following a bilateral meeting at Hyderabad House, New Delhi, on Saturday, Jan 25, 2025.
“We are opening our economy for investments and participation in infrastructure, and we invite Indian groups to take part in Indonesia’s infrastructure programs,” Prabowo stated.
Strengthening Bilateral Partnerships
Prabowo reaffirmed his commitment to accelerating Indonesia-India bilateral cooperation, particularly in investment and technology. He emphasized plans to streamline bureaucracy and simplify regulations that hinder investment flows.
Additionally, Prabowo directed his administration to enhance economic partnerships with India, prioritizing the strategic long-term collaboration both nations value highly.
“If necessary, we will prioritize this relationship in the interest of the long-term strategic partnership,” he added.
Expanding Cooperation in Key Sectors
Prabowo expressed enthusiasm for discussions with Indian industry leaders, exploring cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, tourism, health, energy, security, digital technology, artificial intelligence, and information technology.
He also thanked Prime Minister Modi for creating opportunities for Indonesia to learn from India’s successful programs.
“We have sent technical teams, and we are now implementing many programs which for us have been good examples and from which we will continue to learn,” Prabowo said.
CEO Forum Strengthens Economic Ties
The Indonesia-India CEO Forum, held the same day in New Delhi, brought together business leaders from both countries. Indonesia's delegation, led by Anindya Bakrie, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), and Hashim Djojohadikusumo, Chairman of the Housing Task Force, engaged with their Indian counterparts from the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The forum focused on strengthening economic ties and fostering collaboration.
President Prabowo described the visit as a significant milestone in Indonesia-India relations and extended an invitation for Prime Minister Modi to visit Indonesia in the near future.
“I hope to one day host Prime Minister Modi in Indonesia with the same honor I have received here,” Prabowo concluded.
