Anin and Indonesian Chamber of Commerce Leaders Attend WEF Annual Meeting in Davos, Aiming to Attract Investment
JAKARTA, Investortrust.id – Anindya Novyan Bakrie, Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), along with several board members, will participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, from January 20–24, 2025. Kadin's mission at Davos is to attract foreign investment to Indonesia.
"Kadin has been participating in WEF for over 10 years. Indonesia is open for business, and we are committed to creating a favorable investment climate," Anindya told reporters in Jakarta over the weekend.
According to WEF’s official website, the 2025 annual meeting will host approximately 3,000 leaders from at least 130 countries. Discussions will revolve around global economic issues and partnership opportunities under the theme "Collaboration for the Intelligent Age."
Participants include:
- 350 government leaders, including 60 heads of state, such as U.S. President Donald Trump (joining virtually), Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang.
- 1,600 business leaders, with around 900 CEOs from diverse industries and nations.
- 170 representatives from civil society and academia, including labor unions, NGOs, religious and indigenous groups, and top-tier universities and think tanks.
These participants will tackle pressing global challenges and explore innovative solutions.
The forum will center on five interconnected thematic priorities:
- Rebuilding Trust: Encouraging international and societal collaboration for effective solutions.
- Reimagining Growth: Identifying new sources of growth for the evolving global economy.
- Investing in People: Promoting public and private investment in human capital development and job creation to build resilient communities.
- Protecting the Planet: Catalyzing action on energy, climate, and nature through partnerships, increased financing, and advanced technologies.
- Industries in the Intelligent Era: Assisting business leaders in balancing short-term goals with long-term imperatives for industrial transformation.
The meeting aims to foster collaboration and develop comprehensive solutions that advance resilience and prosperity for humanity and the planet.

Visit to India for Republic Day Celebrations
Following the Davos event, Anindya revealed that Kadin leaders would travel to India upon invitation from the Indian government to celebrate Republic Day on January 26, 2025.
“President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to attend the invitation from India’s Prime Minister for Republic Day. We will accompany him during his visit,” Anindya stated.
In India, Kadin’s central board members and 35 regional leaders plan to hold business meetings with members of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The focus will include sectors such as defense, agriculture, healthcare, education, energy, and technology.
“We’ll also conduct site visits to hospitals, dairy production facilities, and automotive plants. Additionally, we will visit the Taj Mahal to study its tourism sector,” he added.
