BOGOR, Investortrust.id — President Prabowo Subianto meets Rosan Roeslani, CEO of Badan Pengelola Investasi Daya Anagata Nusantara or Danantara and Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, on Sunday, Jan 4, 2026 in Hambalang, Bogor to discuss preparations for groundbreaking five downstream projects valued at Rp 100 trillion, equal to $6 billion, a move expected to accelerate industrial value creation.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya said the meeting took place at Prabowo’s private residence in Hambalang on Sunday afternoon.
He said the discussion focused on three main issues, including progress on five downstreaming project sites to be developed by Danantara that were scheduled to begin construction early next month.
The projects were planned to be spread across several provinces with a total investment value of $6 billion, or around Rp 100 trillion.
While the government has yet to disclose the specific locations and commodities, the projects were widely expected to span strategic downstream sectors such as nickel-based electric vehicle batteries, copper smelting, bauxite processing into alumina or aluminum, coal downstreaming into chemical products, and integrated waste-to-energy facilities. Together, these project clusters aligned with Indonesia’s broader push to add value to natural resources, reduce import dependence, and strengthen the circular economy.
Another strategic agenda discussed was the development of waste-to-energy projects aimed at tightening waste management systems.
Teddy said the program was expected to reduce open waste volumes while generating significant economic benefits.
The meeting reflected Prabowo’s commitment to accelerating downstream industrial development, boosting strategic investment, and promoting sustainable economic growth through environmentally friendly technologies.
