JAKARTA, Investortrust.id — Kadin Indonesia Chairman Anindya Novyan Bakrie says the creative industry has become a key engine of economic growth and job creation on Sunday, Nov 30, 2025 in Jakarta as the chamber intensifies policy discussions ahead of its Rapimnas 2025. The remarks came during a Road to Rapimnas event that also featured the signing of an MoU between Kadin and the Creative Economy Ministry to strengthen industry collaboration and upgrade creative sector capabilities.
Anindya said his 25 years of experience in the sector showed how quickly creative industries had expanded and how much value they had generated for the broader economy. He stressed that the sector offered one of the most promising avenues for large scale employment at a time when businesses were actively seeking new engines for job creation.
"At a time when we are all looking to create jobs, including entrepreneurs who are trying to generate employment, I believe this industry is absolutely the right place," he said.
He pointed to the explosive performance of local films as an indicator of the sector's momentum. The animated feature Jumbo reached 10 million viewers, while the film Agak Laen Menyala Pantiku recorded 1 million viewers within its first three days in cinemas.
"It surprised me," Anindya said. "Because we usually talk about foreign brands. We used to watch Nickelodeon and then Disney, but now these local titles are even bigger. Agak Laen hit 1 million viewers in just three days. These are examples that are only the tip of the iceberg."
Anindya added that the potential could be fully unlocked only through stronger cooperation between industry players and the government. He said the MoU between Kadin and the Creative Economy Ministry marked an important step toward helping the sector climb to the next level.
"Let us support the creative industry together, and we intentionally made this the first event because we feel this sector still needs more emphasis," he said. "Going forward we will focus on it, and I am confident that together we can succeed. Ultimately, we are focused on Indonesia incorporated, meaning collaboration between government and business to move the industry up."
As part of the same series of events leading up to Rapimnas, Kadin also detailed preparations for its two day national leadership meeting to be held on Dec 1–2, 2025. Anindya said the meeting would be opened by MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani, attended by DPR Speaker Puan Maharani and closed by Investment and Downstreaming Minister and Danantara CEO Rosan Perkasa Roeslani.
He said job creation would be the core theme of Rapimnas 2025 and would be discussed in panel sessions involving members of the Merah Putih Cabinet. Outcomes from the meeting would be reported to President Prabowo Subianto shortly after the event.
"We received word from the palace that our input is expected, whether tonight or tomorrow," Anindya said. "This time it seems the government wants things not to be ceremonial but truly bottom up, and that is what we are working to deliver."
