The festival celebrates its twelfth edition with a surge of enthusiasm across all race categories and reinforces a sustainability message through the theme Energizing the Unity.
PT Pertamina (Persero) hosted the festival as one of Indonesia’s largest running events. The state energy company received its first formal recognition from World Athletics, the international governing body for athletics founded in 1912 in Stockholm.
Participants packed the start area before dawn as the festival offered four race formats and hit a full 14,000 quota. Tickets sold out within minutes and attracted families, elite runners, and international participants.
The Half Marathon started at 04.45 with a 3.5 hour cut off, followed by the 10K at 05.15, the 5K at 05.20, and the Family Run at 06.30 which drew strong interest from households seeking a leisure category.
The festival took place along the Sudirman Thamrin corridor and around the Gelora Bung Karno complex, drawing crowds throughout Jakarta’s central business district. Event ambience intensified as live entertainment blended with sports, health activities, and environmental outreach programs.
International Recognition Fuels Momentum
Corporate Secretary Pertamina Arya Dwi Paramita said the global listing underscored the company’s commitment to raising event standards. “Alhamdulillah this is the first year in which we receive international recognition as part of World Athletics,” he said at Istora Senayan.
He added that the accolade marked a breakthrough in Differentiating the festival compared with previous editions. “This achievement is a great honor for us,” he said.
Pertamina highlighted sustainable practices, including a zero waste to landfill approach supported by Waste4Change. The waste management program encouraged responsible disposal, reduced event footprint, and broadened environmental education for attendees.
Inclusivity was another core element as the festival provided wheelchair friendly facilities and race arrangements for participants with disabilities. Runners across all categories competed under improved route management and expanded support stations.
The surge of excitement strengthened Jakarta’s wider sports tourism calendar while amplifying the event’s role in promoting healthy living and environmental awareness. The twelfth edition closed with strong reception and reinforced Pertamina’s long term commitment to sustainability driven community events.
