PT Toyota Astra Motor (PT Toyota Astra Motor) launched the hybrid as part of its push to offer lower emission options tailored to local buyers.
President Director Hiroyuki Ueda said the debut reflected Toyota's long term strategy. "Today we open a new chapter for Veloz which now comes as a hybrid for all Indonesian families," Ueda said.
The company kept the vehicle's familiar design but equipped it with a 1,500 cc engine paired with two electric motors, enabling higher fuel efficiency.
Vice President Director Henry Tanoto said the hybrid offered a more efficient and sustainable choice for families. He announced the Rp 299 million price for the GJAW 2025 prebook window running from Nov 21 to 30.
The Veloz Hybrid complemented the Kijang Innova Zenix Hybrid and Yaris Cross Hybrid in Toyota's electrified lineup.
Toyota held around 31.8 percent of the national market through October 2025, supported by strong sales from Kijang Innova, Avanza, Veloz, and Calya.
The brand also led the electrified segment with about 33.3 percent market share as it maintained the top position despite slowing auto demand during the year.
