Industrial Confidence Index Rises to 53.1 in January
JAKARTA, investortrust.id – Indonesia’s Ministry of Industry recorded an Industrial Confidence Index, or IKI, of 53.10 in January 2025, marking an increase of 0.17 points from December 2024’s level of 52.93.
"The IKI for January 2025 reached 53.10, indicating expansion," said the ministry's okesperson Febri Hendri Antoni Arif during a press conference at the ministry’s office in South Jakarta on Thursday, January 30, 2025.
The index also rose by 0.75 points compared to January 2024’s figure of 52.35. Of the 23 manufacturing subsectors analyzed, 20 experienced expansion while only three contracted. "The expanding subsectors contributed 95.5% to the non-oil and gas manufacturing sector’s GDP in the third quarter of 2024," Febri explained.
Among the best-performing sectors, the highest IKI values were recorded in the transportation equipment industry and the electrical equipment industry. Conversely, the three subsectors experiencing the steepest contractions were the beverage industry, the computer, electronics, and optical goods industry, and other processing industries.
In January 2025, the IKI for new orders saw an accelerated expansion, rising by 2.03 points to 52.7. However, the IKI for production, while still expanding, slowed by 2.14 points to 53.39. "Additionally, the IKI for product inventory also experienced a slowdown in expansion, declining by 1.0 points to 53.58," Febri noted.
