Anindya Bakrie: Kadin to Form Project Management Office to Advance Indonesia-India CEO Forum Results
JAKARTA, investortrust.id—Anindya Bakrie, the chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, or Kadin, described recent discussions between Indonesian and Indian business leaders as productive, concrete, and transparent. The meetings, conducted through the CEO Forum and business matching sessions in New Delhi, resulted in several cooperation agreements spanning agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, technology, energy transition, and affordable housing.
“These two nations share an extraordinary history and a mutual desire to enhance investment and trade. This time, we see tremendous potential for collaboration between Indonesia and India in areas like agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, technology, and energy transition. Adding to this, we have affordable housing as a significant focus,” Anindya Bakrie stated on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025.
Ensuring Follow-Through
Kadin Indonesia plans to establish a project management office to ensure the outcomes of the CEO Forum and business matching are implemented effectively. According to Anindya Bakrie, this initiative is critical to translating discussions into tangible investments.
“We at Kadin will set up a project management office to monitor progress regularly and ensure that what has been discussed and agreed upon is followed through. When we talk about investment, it must materialize. Discussions about market access must result in concrete actions—specific products, services, and clear pathways,” he explained.
Joint Statement Submitted to Leaders
The outcomes of the CEO Forum were compiled into a joint statement, which Anindya Bakrie and his counterpart, Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Ajay S Shriram, presented to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The statement was officially received by Indonesia’s Foreign Affairs Minister Sugiono and India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar at Hyderabad House in New Delhi on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2025.
“This is an honor for us, and we see it as our responsibility to assist the government in ensuring these initiatives are realized,” Anindya Bakrie said.
Earlier on Sunday, Ministers Jaishankar highlighted the pivotal role of CII in fostering bilateral economic ties while emphasizing its commitment to advancing the CEO Forum’s objectives.
"The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is a very active and useful organization. The ambassador informed me that they have agreed to bring the CEO Forum to Indonesia, and I am confident he will follow up to ensure it is realized," Jaishankar said.
